another month behind us...

...and much closer to a new year.

this was a roller coaster kind of week...great news on monday, cold symptoms on tuesday, a severe headache on wednesday, feeling decent on thursday, hoping to get some shopping done on friday.

each day is a new adventure...until the sun comes up we don't really know what kind of day we will have. i am off work until tuesday so we are hoping for a nice weekend...i am OK with the december chill coming our way but tim likes the weather today.

i am now going to try to beat tim in a game of sequence...thanks for checking in.

first day of buck...

...hope all of you who roamed the woods today had some good hunting.

today the doctors appt went well...even though we knew this-it was the FIRST day that the doctor actually said that based on all the tests and scans you are officially in REMISSION>>>it was nice to hear him say it. i guess once you are diagnosed with cancer you are never actually classified as cancer-free but rather in remission...so that is where we are. we actually have three weeks off...no appts, no scans, no bloodwork. this makes for a good day.

we had a wonderful thanksgiving with family and friends and lots of food...i have been debating about how much longer to keep this blog going because his appts are getting spaced more and more but while i was in berwick i must have had a dozen or more people tell me how much they appreciate the blog-so i guess i will keep blogging a bit longer. thanks for all your interest and support and prayers.

we are going to try and get some of the christmas decorations up this week and start some shopping. (it is nice to have a week of a normal routine with no appointments).

thanks for checking in...

two more days 'til holiday

we are all looking forward to the trip to berwick this thanksgiving season. tim wishes that he was going there to run the marathon but maybe next year. his usual routine is RUN the marathon, EAT turkey and HUNT. this year will be WATCH the marathon, EAT turkey and a monday ONCOLOGY appt. at least we will have something to aim for next year.

things are pretty good around here...he still loves to sleep in, but we are working on that. he has never been able to get too involved with the christmas shopping and the christmas cards and the christmas wrapping...boy is he is for a surprise this year. he will be begging to go back to work. (remember we have three teenage daughters...off to old navy and gap and AE and bath and body and claires and all that girlie stuff)

i am not sure we will get a chance to update again before we go but once we leave here we go into the land of no internet and no computers (yes, such a place actually does exist)...so our family hopes that you and your family has a blessed thanksgiving full of lots of fun and lots of turkey and lots of friends and family. (we don't know what we would do without them).

thanks for checking in...

weekend update...

...so far so good. tim is having a decent weekend. he is up and around a little more because i am working third shift this weekend and he needs to transport the kiddos a bit. he is unusually cold today for some reason...he sits with the heater pointed directly at him and a blanket watching the ohio vs michigan game.

meg has two days under her belt at her first job...she seems to like it so far. she works at the colonial park mall. now is when a drivers license would be nice. (soon enough i guess...mid-may)

well...not much to say. just wanted to check in and update a bit. i am going back to my nap.

hope you are all having a great weekend. thanks for checking in.

mid-week update...

all is well in the dewalt house. the weekend seems to have wiped tim out-he is struggling with his energy level these last two days. it seems as though if we have something to do he will get up and around and moving...but on days when i work or we are just hanging out, he prefers to "veg". i am not sure when we are to start to PUSH to stay vertical for long periods of time...i guess there is no standard to go by-everyone is different. i have found that a common senerio is that for every one day we push he needs two days to recover and then we can go again. i would like to narrow that down to one for one.

we are going to berwick for thanksgiving...we have so much to be thankful for!!! it will be a great time of just kicking back and relaxing. he does have bloodwork on this coming monday but we were able to hold off on the doctors appt until the monday after the holiday. (he was bumming a bit that he had a doctors appt on the first day of buck-it must be a guy thing-because he is not supposed to be around dogs and cats i doubt they want him trailing thru the woods in search of bambi).

well, i guess that is all for now. just incase any of you out there decide to go see "flushed away" that new animated movie about a rodent being flushed down the toilet...look around and see if you can find the twins cell phone!!! things at the dewalt house are always entertaining, except this time is was not OUR plumbing that got clogged...sorry david!!!

take care and have a great day.

tim and tammy.

ps...hey flo-great to hear from you-thanks for the prayers.

a very nice weekend

we had a great weekend and even got away for a bit...it was exhausting for tim but well worth it. the bloodwork from today came back and his liver enzymes have started to drop-this is what we wanted to happen-they had been slowly climbing each week but have started a downward trend now. we need one more week of the downward trend and then they will decide what to do about the steroids and the anti-rejection drugs.

other than that things are holding steady...

the weekend has arrived...

...and all is good. tim was able to make it thru a football game-outside!!! susquehanna made the playoffs and won last night (yeah). the milder weather had been good for him the last couple of days...but he keeps asking when we are moving to florida??? i tell him maybe his next wife will take him down where it is hot and buggy. (i can't wait for the first snow storm!!) it is going to be a long winter!!!

well, hope you all have a great weekend-enjoy the outside before the rains come.

thanks for checking in.

thursday nite update

i guess no news is good news...we haven't officially heard about how all the scans turned out but we are quite sure that they were OK since we haven't heard any different. tim's liver enzymes are on the rise and they are watching that with blood work every monday. they are thinking that it is related to the graft vs host rather than a cancer issue...so we just watch and see how it goes. if they continue to rise over the next couple of weeks they are going to put him on a second anti-rejection drug. some people respond better with two anti-rejection drugs.

he had a good day today-spent the day today with his dad...i am on a three day stretch at work so his dad will come down to keep him company.

still getting the headaches occasionally but the doctor thinks they are sinus related.

the kids are off school for an in-service day tomorrow... all three kids made honors this marking period...can't complain about that.

enjoy this unusually warm weather we are having

monday morning...

...off to the med center for the day. tim has all his scans throughout the day and we see the doctor today in the afternoon. he had a very lazy weekend. some days it is hard to get him motivated...maybe after these tests are all done he will feel a bit better. i will give an update as soon as we hear anything about the scans, although we are expecting all to be well.

tomorrow is our wedding anniversary...it is going to be 19 years!!! (and this last one was a doosey). i hope he is not craving chicken fingers again.

well, gotta get the kids to school.

thanks for checking in.

it is 5am...

...and all is well. i had a shift change for today and i start work at 6am. tim is good. he just prefers to stay indoors when the weather gets this cold. i might get him to bundle up for the noon soccer game tomorrow-maybe. he was sniffling a bit yesterday...hopefully only because of the extreme weather change.

have a great weekend.

thanks for checking in.

a nice rain...

...i am just enjoying the sounds of the rain outside and thought that i would say HI>

it is dark and quiet around here-everyone is in bed. tim had a pretty good day yesterday-he had a headache earlier in the day but was still able to enjoy his day with his dad. after fixing supper i crashed on the couch and he took the kids to church and back. i pulled a muscle raking leaves the other day and am on some pretty heavy duty drugs. the muscle relaxer sure is nice-as long as you don't mind losing a few hours. (who needs a gym when i can torture myself right here in my front yard)

one field hockey banquet tonight, a football game on friday night, a socer game on saturday morning, a soccer game on sunday afternoon, and another field hockey banquet on sunday night...then we are officially done with the fall sports season. (except for football playoffs-which are just fun spectator events).

tim has all his "re-staging" tests on monday...blood work and scans and doctors appts and probably a bone marrow biopsy. everything is fine but they like to give him the "once over" every now and then.

well, hope you all are having a good week-don't eat too much of the left over candy...

thanks for checking in...
